Indianapolis Colts’ RB Jonathan Taylor has been a standout for most of his half-decade NFL career, but the window to sell Taylor might be right now in dynasty fantasy football.

Taylor was prolific down the stretch, posting elite numbers – and very likely your ticket to the championship game given his 47-point PPR performance in Week 16. Taylor owners are very happy they stuck through a dip in value in 2023.

However, the Colts offense doesn’t look to be a beacon of consistency with Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones vying for the QB1 role. Remember, a RB can be other-worldly talented, but they’ll lack points if the offense doesn’t get them to the red zone often or fall into a deficit early. Taylor is elite, and he will have elite games, make no mistake. But dynasty owners might be savvy to package him with another player to move up a tier for Jahmyr Gibbs or Devon Achane, who will likely not be a victim of their circumstances as often as Taylor in 2025.

It’s important to remember context when discussing buys and sells in dynasty. If you need a starting RB, don’t just dump Taylor off for nothing.

The case for Taylor is still clear: he’s a home-run threat at a scarce position and still has a couple prime years left at age 26. There will be games the Colts will be competitive in, even ones you don’t expect – that’s just the way the NFL works. Taylor’s monster games are among the best you’ll find in the league, and he’s a capable pass catcher.

The case for selling Taylor has one path: if you’re contending or rebuilding, now is a good time to pair Taylor with a player or draft pick and move up a tier.
